As the dreary winter days continue on, we can’t help but start the countdown to better days. We’re the first to admit that we are already daydreaming about sunnier, shiner days. We cannot wait, but that doesn’t mean we can slack for the rest of winter.

When it comes to the right jacket for cold weather, the options are as endless as the never-ending questions when shopping. We often worry if jackets are too long, or too short. We wonder if we should forgo the wow-factor for warmth. We often worry about finding something stylish yet sustainable.

Shoppers facing this daunting dilemma should fear not. We’ve down our own research and the results of the best down parka are in!

The Emeralda Down Park by Outdoor Research is our first pick for this winter, or the next and the rest to come. Gone are the days where shoppers dreaded Punxsutawney Phil seeing his shadow. Now, they can’t wait to foreshadow their future forecasts in this stylish staple! We may just want to live in this sleek and stylish parka.

The stylish exterior in no way compromises or minimizes its performance. Instead, it maintains a sleek and effortless look with its premium water- and wind-resistant Pertex Quantum Pro fabric. The 700-fill down is high-loft and lightweight. Which mean what, exactly? Underneath that jacket’s weather-resistant shell, baffles filled with high-loft down insulate you. Now, we can keep our body heat in and the cold air out!

And, the endlessly amazing benefits don’t stop there! Has anyone ever had a chill they just couldn’t break? Well, worry no more. In this down jacket, the adjustable hood and waist minimize drafts, too. The sleeves hide slim-fitting cuffs that include thumbholes to ensure they stay in place. Shoppers will no longer be gone with the wind! An internal storm flap runs the length of the zipper to seal out any and every gust of winds. Additionally, the dual-direction zipper is designed to vent excess heat on more temperate days making this jacket down for any and every weather.

Not only is this jacket versatile for weather, but it also can fit a shopper’s specific preferences with three available shades. The down jacket is available in three shades which include black, pewter and zin.

The black, of course, is the most versatile, since everything matches with ease.It goes with everything and is anything but basic, or boring. Reason being? It includes an amazing pop of color in its hood. The interior of the black hood happens to be this simply stunning raspberry-pink shade, which is such a fun and feminine touch that was so unexpected.

The second shade, pewter, is a stunning gunmetal silver. We can’t help but encourage shoppers to pair other metallics with this hue. The interior of its hood happens to be this equally striking aquamarine-turquoise shade, which gives this jacket such a lovely pop of color, too!

Lastly, the zinc shade is by far the boldest of them all. Zinc is a full-on raspberry shade which features an equally beautiful purple-grape shade in its hood interior. We can’t help but recommend this shade for the shopper looking to be the brightest of the bunch!

But why stop with just one? Backcountry’s Semi-Annual sale also just happened to kickoff and we can’t help but also recommend shoppers try not one, but all of the shades available. Talk about hitting a trifecta!
