Hyland told Marie Claire about some of her favorite beauty and skincare products of all time, emphasizing the value of self-care. She often has very early call times, so getting a positive start to her day is of the utmost importance.
“Sometimes, when I wake up in the morning I’ll use one of Joanna Vargas’ sheet masks, which I keep in the fridge overnight,” Hyland explained. “When I put it on my face at, like, 5 a.m., the cold sensation really wakes me up. I’ll put a baseball cap and glasses over my mask so it stays on while driving to work.” We love and appreciate the visual of Hyland driving with a sheet mask on her face. Too relatable!
This mask is known for its “deep-conditioning” capabilities, and it’s soaked with moisturizing serum — enough that shoppers say they actually like to save the excess to use again the following day, either with fingers or cotton rounds! One exciting feature in this mask is the Epidermal Growth Factor, which actually claims to stimulate cellular renewal, digging much deeper than the surface to produce long-lasting results. There is also Hamamelis virginiana water, also known as witch hazel, a natural antioxidant, and arbutin, a brightening ingredient that may protect us against sun damage. The last key ingredient is the soothing allantoin, which may gently moisturize and offer major anti-aging benefits.
This set comes with five sheet masks, and what better way to not only wake up, but to prepare for special events? To use this mask, we should start off with clean and dry skin. Unfold the sheet mask and peel off the plastic backing, applying the moistened side to face. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. Either chill out or try using a facial roller on top for deeper penetration! Then remove and dispose of the mask, massaging excess serum into skin.
If we have sensitive skin, it’s recommended that we rinse our face off afterward, but those with other skin types can just continue on with our day!
