Practical, stylish outerwear that helps Us switch up our everyday looks is always a major win for our closets! We love jackets with removable hoods, a cashmere wrap that we can wear several different ways, moto toppers that unzip and become cool vests, and anything else that we can easily transform. It is like snagging two garments in one, which always feels like we scored a bargain, even when our pick is full price.
The convertible garment that we currently have our eyes on is the BLANKNYC Cloud Nine Drape Jacket. The topper is designed to be worn two ways and has two color options. The jacket features pockets, stretchy ribbed underarm panels and a soft, cozy fabric blend.
The jacket can be worn as a casual open front number that shows off its waterfall design (shown above). We can also be wrap it around and gather it in textural folds. The fabric blend includes spandex and cotton, which means we are in for a pretty warm and comfortable layering experience. We also love how the fabric appears to have a faux suede finish and we’ll certainly be pairing the design with our go-to faux suede over-the-knee boots!
This jacket is available in Merlot (above) and classic black. Check out how sleek and minimal the black version looks.
Black faux leather moto leggings, ankle boots, a Tory Burch tote bag and this draped jacket design will make for a lovely all-black outfit combination. This drape style jacket is also perfect for wearing with a wide variety of bottoms and shoes. We can already see ourselves teaming the jacket with corduroy leggings and wedge bootie sneakers. The stylish layer also boasts a simple and elegant enough design to be worn with cropped dress pants and loafers, or layered on top of a sweater dress and low heel pumps.
Shoppers who purchased this drape design vouch for its comfort and love that it is a perfect light layer for fall. They seem impressed by the accurate fit and how easily it can be styled. Reviewers also shared that they wore it for a variety of settings and occasions, including work, dates and other casual outings. One mother specifically shared that she bought the drape jacket as a topper to wear during and after her pregnancy to avoid investing in specific maternity clothes. The most popular color based on reviews is the Merlot.
This jacket is selling quickly, so we will have to drop it into our shopping carts and add it to our closets ASAP.
For shoppers who love the idea of a drape jacket for fall, but are hoping for something with a tad more edge to it, then the Shop With Us team has also found this BLANKNYC Drape Front Jacket with leather details on sale.
See it: Snag the BlankNYC Drape Front Jacket in this Stone Age shade (marked down 30 percent off its original price, now $68) while it is available in all sizes. Also available in Cabernet (wine) for $70.
Like the Cloud Nine jacket, this faux suede drape front version has a waterfall open front, practical pockets and can be worn in two different ways. Check out how it looks all pulled and zipped up down below.
What really makes the topper stand out is its asymmetrical hemline and the faux leather panels that travel from the shoulder and down to the sleeves. This design is also fully lined so we get an extra warm wear experience. We’ll be wearing this grey design with jeans and boots inevitably. Still, this outerwear pick will look great paired with a pencil skirt and sock boots or worn over a simple little black sweater dress.
The faux suede drape front also comes in a gorgeous Cabernet shade!
Oh, the decisions! This Cabernet design is the perfect alternative to the Merlot version we found at Nordstrom. The true deciding factor is simply whether or not we feel like wearing edgy leather sleeves on a particular day.
The drape front jacket is such a lovely style to step out in this fall. It offers an effortless look to it that can be dressed up with dresses, skirts and slacks, but also worn with casual denim. Sizes range from extra small to large and are fully stocked in both color options.
