In case you needed further proof that Cindy Crawford is ageless, the OG supermodel was in Shanghai on Tuesday, October 23, for an Omega event, but, if we didn’t know any better, we would have believed it was the 1991 Oscars all over again. The mom of two stunned in a red column gown and matching shoes that called to mind the iconic crimson Versace number she wore nearly three decades ago to walk the red carpet with then-boyfriend Richard Gere at the Academy Awards.
Joining fellow Omega ambassadors Cecilia Liu Shishi, Nicole Kidman and Alessandra Ambrosio, who were all similarly decked out in scarlet, the 52-year-old Crawford showed off her super fit physique and timeless style in the floor-length gown. With a thigh-high front slit and square neckline, the dress offered an updated take on one of her most famous red carpet looks ever.
Back in 1991, the then-25-year-old supermodel attended the Oscars with Gere in a red hot Versace gown that featured a plunging neckline and back slit. At the time, she rocked a bouncy blowout, glowing skin and tawny lip that weren’t all that different from her 2018 glam.
In Shanghai, makeup artist Hung Vanngo gave the brunette beauty a radiantly sculpted complexion, sultry smokey eye and nude lip to complement the bombshell bends by Harry Josh — a classic combo that Crawford has singlehandedly shown will never go out of style.
But this isn’t the first time she’s has paid homage to her movie star moment. Earlier this year, she teamed up with Versace once again to create her look for the 2018 “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”-themed Met Gala.
At the annual fete dubbed “fashion’s biggest night,” she wore a latex-like version of the OG design, with her signature luminous makeup and glossy mane for the best kind of sartorial throwback.
