Not on his level? Lala Kent slammed fashion designer Michael Costello for not making her wedding dress because she’s not a “big enough” celebrity.
The Vanderpump Rules star, 30, called out Costello, 37, after he accused Kylie Jenner of not giving certain designers credit for her looks on Instagram unless they are well known or she gets paid.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 23, thanked Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing via Instagram on Wednesday, August 12, for designing her bejeweled birthday dress. Costello was quick to criticize Jenner for picking and choosing who she publicly credits.
“Thank you Oliver for the perfect bday dress,” he commented on Jenner’s post. “And thank you to the no name designers who work tirelessly around the clock on custom looks who she won’t tag , mention or @ . . . Unless it’s paid.”
Kent noticed the comment and blasted the Project Runway alum for ghosting her after she asked him to design her wedding dress.
“I trolled Kylie’s gram and found this,” she wrote via her Instagram Story on Friday, August 14. “What a clown. This dude. I literally blew him up to make my custom wedding dress-he would have gotten all the ‘tags & @’s’ he’s talking about. But I never heard back from him… why? Because I’m not ‘big enough.’ So cool out, Costello-you do the same s–t.”
Costello responded by posting a screenshot of a text message exchange he had with Kent’s wedding planner.
“You wanted us to dress you and we passed,” he captioned the post. “You didn’t want to buy anything we also confirmed an appointment for you and it was a no show! Why are you complaining a whole year later? God bless.”
The Utah native clapped back that Costello sharing the text messages “made my point,” adding, “You passed on me just like Kylie Jenner passes on you. Get over it.”
Kent got engaged to Randall Emmett in September 2018 and had planned to get married in April, but the ceremony was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Bravo star concerned fans in July when she deleted photos of the director, 49, from her Instagram page and shared cryptic messages about making “mistakes.”
“Dear God, it is I who has made my life a mess. I have done it, but I cannot undo it,” Kent wrote via her Instagram Story. “My mistakes are mine & I will begin a searching & fearless moral inventory. I will write down my wrongs but I will also include that which is good. I pray for the strength to complete the task.”
However, Kent appeared to be in better spirits on Friday, August 14, when she and Emmett reunited with the cast of Vanderpump Rules on vacation in Nevada.
