Actress JoAnna Garcia was born on August 10, 1979, in Tampa, Florida. While she was still in high school, the 5'5" redhead divided her time between her home state and Montreal, where she filmed Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? for two seasons.

After her freshman year of college at Florida State University, Garcia decided to put school on hold to pursue her dream of becoming an actress in L.A. Once there, she soon appeared on television shows such as Party of Five and Freaks and Geeks.

In 2001, Garcia began her six-year run on The CW comedy Reba (opposite Reba McEntire). Midway through the show, Garcia became engaged to Justin Timberlake's childhood pal, Trace Ayala; the couple later called it off.

After Reba wrapped production in 2007, the actress went on to star in the short-lived series Privileged and appeared in several episodes of Gossip Girl.

Garcia began dating New York Yankess player Nick Swisher in August 2009; the couple announced their engagement nine months later. They tied the knot at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Fla. in December 2010. The spouses welcomed a daughter in May 2013.
