Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are making big moves down the street. The two stars, who announced their split last month, are renting a new property as their own home undergoes renovations, sources confirm to Us Weekly.
Affleck, 42, and Garner, 43, are looking to rent the Pacific Palisades home of fellow celeb Brooke Shields. The estranged pair would temporarily relocate just a short walk away from their own home, as the mansion is renovated to better house two adults living separately while co-parenting their three kids.
"It's just a matter of convenience because a lot of renovations are being done on the house," a source tells Us of the rental. "They are just going to rent the house for a time until the renovations are complete, not moving into it full time."
Model and actress Shields, 50, recently listed the home that she shared with husband Chris Henchy and the couple's young daughters. The California estate features five bedrooms, five-and-a-half bathrooms, and more than enough room for Affleck and Garner to live separately and comfortably.
"The contracts haven't been signed yet and it hasn't been worked out if [Ben] will move in or Jen, as well," the insider adds. "But they are figuring that out. He still plans to live on their property with Jen and the kids. This is just a temporary solution while the renovations are going on."
In the weeks since the actors announced the end of their 10-year marriage, they have attempted to keep things as normal as possible for their daughters Violet, 9, and Seraphina, 6, and son Sam, 3. Affleck recently spent time with Garner and their three kids in Atlanta — where she's been filming Miracles From Heaven — but sources told Us at the time that he was sleeping in the guest house, rather than with his soon-to-be ex-wife.
"They both put on their happy faces and don't show any signs of anger or frustration," a second source told Us of the pair. "They definitely play happy family in front of the kids."
