Amy Schumer is overwhelmingly proud of her postpartum body and weight loss journey.
“C-section peaking out saying, ‘Yeah, I’m a warrior,’” Schumer, 45, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Friday, July 10, alongside a snap of the comedian posing in a cream-colored bikini.
Schumer and her then-husband, Chris Fischer, welcomed son Gene in May 2019 via caesarean section, which the Trainwreck actress later described as a “really scary” delivery experience.
“I was throwing up through the first hour of my C-section,” Schumer recalled of the procedure on a December 2019 episode of the “Informed Pregnancy and Parenting” podcast. “It’s supposed to take about an hour and a half. Mine took over three hours because of my endometriosis.”
Schumer, who had surgery to remove her endometriosis spots in 2021, further called labor “brutal” but praised Fischer’s support. (The pair ultimately separated in late 2025.)
“Chris was so great. We just stared [into] each other’s eyes and he just held me there,” Schumer added at the time of her then-spouse. “Then they let me hold Gene for a good amount of time. I got to see him and hold him.”
In the years since Schumer gave birth to son Gene, she’s been in the middle of a wellness journey using GLP-1 medications to slim down.

“Three years ago, I tried Wegovy. I was puking, I couldn’t handle it. I don’t know if they’ve changed the formula, whatever,” she said in a March 2025 social media video, detailing her weight loss. “I went on this Telehealth meeting with Midi Health, and it was cheap. I wanted to try it myself ‘cause I wanted to recommend it to my friends who are nurses and teachers. They put me on estrogen and progesterone because I realized I was in perimenopause and my symptoms from being perimenopause have disappeared.”
She continued, “My hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy, I want to get down more, if you know what I mean. I’m talking about sex. So that’s been great and Mounjaro’s been great.”
Schumer has since lost 50 pounds.
“I don’t get Botox or filler. I didn’t lose 30lbs, I lost 50. Not to look hot which does feel fun and temporary. I did it to survive,” she revealed via her Instagram Stories in December 2025. “I had a disease that makes your face extremely puffy that can kill you, but the internet caught it, and the disease has cleared.”
Schumer, who was previously diagnosed with Cushing syndrome, is now focused on self-care.
“This year is about self care and self love. No makeup. No filter,” Schumer wrote via Instagram in January, ringing in 2026. “Let’s all appreciate our health, our families, our friends, and have the best year of our lives. Moving forward with no regrets. Just love.”
