Britney Spears is always in shape. But even the “Toxic” singer likes to get her body more taut and toned for summer bikini season with a special workout!
The dancer posted a full-body workout video to Instagram on Tuesday, May 21, to show the moves she does to get muscles fast before beach season. “Getting ready for summer,” she wrote.
Wearing a sports bra, workout shorts and sneakers with pulled up socks, the 37-year-old star begins by holding a pole behind her neck with her arms extended to both sides, dipping to the left and right repeatedly, then twisting her core, which works the shoulders and abdomen.
Next, Spears moves to leg exercises, doing squats while holding a medicine ball. After she finishes a set, she then raises the weight above her head and squats more.
To tone her outer legs and butt, the Louisiana native does sets of lateral leg lifts. Bonus: this exercise engages the core as well.
Moving onto her upper body, the mom of Sean Preston, 13, and Jayden James, 12, does bicep curls with free weights on the left and right side. She finishes up her summer workout, with above-the-head weighted tricep extensions.
On May 4, the Grammy winner posted a video doing yoga outside. This came less than a week after she checked out of a California wellness center following a month of treatment for mental health issues triggered by the stress of her father Jamie Spears’ recent hospitalization. Spears decided to seek professional help in late March after putting her Las Vegas residency on indefinite hold.
At the time a source told Us the former gymnast was relying on fitness to help stay centered. “She has a long road ahead but is also working out, doing yoga, meditating and really trying to get herself back to the place she was before her father got sick” in November 2018, said the source.
