Lala Kent explained why she started editing photos of her daughter Ocean after the 3-year-old sustained a serious injury to her teeth.
“I’m usually the type to not read/ignore comments. But we are from Utah honey. We are teeth people! so I could not let this comment slide,” Kent, 34, captioned an Instagram video on Saturday, November 30, of her eldest child.
Kent revealed that Ocean recently had a health scare, adding, “Ocean has a fond relationship with her wild side and enjoys not listening. She fell off her bike face first.”
After the fall, Ocean was diagnosed with “trauma” to “the root of her two front teeth.”
“Yes, I’m the mom who usually edits this. Go ahead and judge,” Kent continued. “The root isn’t dead, but we go to the dentist every 3-6 months for check-ins. They will likely have to be pulled or she will have to have a root canal.”
Kent noted that Ocean has found the experience — and her teeth — to be “cool.” The reality star didn’t clarify what led to her addressing Ocean’s injury and subsequent medical visits.
Kent shares Ocean with ex-fiancé Randall Emmett, with whom she has had a tumultuous relationship. After their split in 2021, Kent expressed interest in having more kids on her own.
“I will not even attempt to try and do it a different way. I don’t want another person involved,” she said about considering a sperm donor during a “Scheananigans” podcast episode in November 2022. “There’s such a high chance of it not working out, especially where we live. I’m not taking the chance. Like, I am so scarred from all of this s— that has happened in my life.”
Kent subsequently documented her pregnancy journey after deciding to go through intrauterine insemination (IUI). “This is a monumental moment in my life. We are picking my future child, who is going to be a part of my life until I die. I want to take this science jargon out of it a little bit,” she said on an April episode of Vanderpump Rules. “I am trying to figure out little ways where I can look at this baby and go, ‘You were brought here out of so much love.’ It may look different but love is love.”
The Bravo star teased that she wasn’t ruling out having more kids in the future. On a March episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast, she shared that she has “a lot of sperm left over” from her donor, “so we can always go for round three.”
Kent is currently focusing on her family of three after welcoming daughter Sosa in September. “For real though, Ocean is absolutely obsessed with Sosa,” Kent wrote via Instagram at the time. “It was love at first sight. We are all over the moon about the newest addition to our pod. I can’t wait to share all the moments of this new chapter and blessing in our life.”
She continued: “I’ve been enjoying every second. Lots of skin-to-skin, lots of boobie time, lots of staring and thanking God.”
