It was a wedding day full of love — and LOLs! As Us Weekly exclusively revealed over the weekend, Saturday Night Live alum Andy Samberg married folk singer-songwriter Joanna Newsom at the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, Calif. on Sat. Sept. 21.
A source tells Us that fellow comedy superstars Amy Poehler and boyfriend Nick Kroll were on hand to celebrated with Samberg, 35, and Newsom, 31. Another SNL funny lady in attendance? Maya Rudolph, husband Paul Thomas Anderson — and their just-born fourth child. "She was pumping at the wedding!" the source says.
Other attendees include SNL creator Lorne Michaels as well as Adam Sandler. Grammy nominee and indie fave Newsom wore a Zac Posen wedding gown for the bash while Samberg had a custom suit by David Hart. And despite lots of laughter, there were tears, too. "Andy's speech was the perfect mix of comedy and sentiment," the source says. "Both he and Joanna were crying throughout the speech."
The evening before, the happy couple were also toasted at a raucous rehearsal dinner, where many of the comedically gifted guests did stand-up, according to the source.
Us was first to break news of the unexpected coupling — and then of their engagement this past February. "He liked her music and would go to her shows," a pal previously told Us. "He had the biggest crush on her."
