Meagan Good is still in the honeymoon phase with her husband, Jonathan Majors, after one year of marriage.
“They say it’s the hardest, [but] I think for us, especially these last few months, it’s been really amazing,” Good, 45, gushed about the pair’s first year of marriage on the Wednesday, October 28, episode of the “Angie Martinez IRL” podcast. “It’s been really fun.”
She continued, “I think the way that we’ve gotten to know each other even more, the friendship that we’ve built [has grown] because the love was already there … but the friendship has become really, really amazing and a lot of fun.”
Good and Majors, 37, have been together since 2023 and tied the knot in March 2025.
“We [had a friendship before marriage], but it’s just different,” she acknowledged of the couple’s bond. “I think it’s also the marriage. It’s like, ‘It’s me and you, it’s us against the world.’ The way that we’re locked in? There’s just a lot of joy and fun. It’s just literally, like, being married to your best friend.”
Good was previously married to author DeVon Franklin from 2012 to 2022, taking lessons from their divorce as she settles into life with Majors.
“I know I’m a fire wife now, like, I definitely learned a lot,” she quipped. “I learned a lot about myself, a lot about some of the traumas that I had in the past, some of the things that informed how I moved or what I thought. I definitely became less religious, I guess you could say. I’m definitely [a] Jesus freak through and through and through and through, and I’m saved and I’m a Christian, but I realized my dynamic with God changed so much.”
Good added, “I had this experience where I was talking to God and I said, ‘Lord, am I getting it right?’ And all I heard was, ‘It’s OK.’ It suddenly occurred to me [that] I wasn’t getting it right and I wasn’t getting it wrong; it’s OK.”
Surrendering to her faith, Good reexamined her life and experience with religion.
“Everything was questionable,” she recalled. “Everything was like, ‘Well, this doesn’t make sense to me now.’ I got to a point where I was like, ‘I’m mad at you, Lord. I don’t trust you anymore.’”
Acknowledging her newly discovered truths, Good said she was able to become “a better woman, a better wife [and] a better person.”
“I just feel so in tune with [Jonathan] and his needs and who he really is at the core,” Good said of supporting her husband. “[I am now] able to see what informs what, and what is this about and how can I be of service to him this way and how can I cover him this way as a wife. I’m also in a different space, so I just love to be home and up under him and cooking. I don’t want to do nothing else.”
