"He said all the right things and I and the families were a good, good fit. And he seemed to grow up similarly to me. It was almost like an arranged marriage, I felt like, except we chose one another," Meghan King said during a March 2022 appearance on Sirius XM's Jeff Lewis Live about her brief relationship with Cuffe Owens. "I just really want some help [with my kids] and I want[ed] a partnership." The Real Housewives of Orange County alum married Owens in October 2021, just one month after they met on a dating app. However, after two months of marriage they called it quits in December of that year. "I am rattled. This situation is profoundly devastating," King wrote at the time in a statement shared via her Instagram Story. "This is obviously not what I imagined when I made my vows — and I’m shocked and saddened by the way things turned out. I am moving forward with my children as we privately process our pain and begin to let go of shattered dreams." While the reality TV personality hasn't gone into detail about what went wrong with her marriage, others have been open about what caused them to pull the plug on their relationships. "I panicked," Kenny Chesney confessed during an April 2010 TV appearance about his brief marriage to Renee Zellweger. "Oh my God, but it's tough. It really is tough. And she's a sweet soul, no doubt about it, but I just wasn't ready." By September of that year, however, Zellweger filed for an annulment, citing "fraud." Though the Bridget Jones' Diary star released a statement at the time stating that the term was "simply legal language and not a reflection of Kenny’s character," many began to speculate about Chesney's sexuality in the wake of their split. "It made me sad that somehow people were using that as a way to be cruel and calling someone gay as a pejorative, which has fateful consequences," Zellweger told The Advocate in September 2016. "Of course, there’s the bigger-picture problem of why anyone had to make up a story at all." She continued: "I’m an old-fashioned gal who doesn’t feel it’s appropriate to hang out your laundry on the lawn. I feel you devalue yourself as a human being when you share very personal things with a bajillion strangers who are making fun of you. ... The former Bravo personality revealed in March 2022 that she's planning to have her short-lived marriage to Owens annulled. Four months later, King confirmed that the marriage was officially annulled.

Britney Spears and Jason Alexander

The "Toxic" singer famously married her childhood friend in January 2004 during a night out in Las Vegas, wearing a baseball cap and jeans. Just hours after they tied the knot, Spears filed for an annulment, though Alexander claimed in July 2021 that it was her team who ended things. "They told me if I would sign the contracts — the annulment — they would let me and Britney continue our relationship, and if we felt the same way in six months they would give us a proper marriage," he said during an episode of the “Toxic: The Britney Spears Story” podcast. "Literally the day after, like, the 30 days was up, I remember trying to call the number I had for Britney and it was [disconnected]."

The pair secretly wed in May 2005 after just four months of dating and four months after that, their relationship came to an end. At the time, the exes issued a joint statement, attributing their split to a "miscommunication of the objective of their marriage."

The National Treasure actor filed for an annulment just four days after he married the makeup artist in Las Vegas. According to court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Cage alleged to be too intoxicated to fully “recognize or understand the full impact of his actions.”

Chad "Ochocino" Johnson and Evelyn Lozada

Forty one days after they got married, Lozada ended her relationship with the football player in August 2012 in the wake of his arrest for domestic violence. Johnson was taken into custody after allegedly head butting the Basketball Wives alum during an argument. The athlete filed his own divorce papers that September, and their split was finalized before the end of the month.

Mario Lopez and Ali Landry

The pair tied the knot in April 2004, after six years of dating, only for Landry to annul the union two weeks later after learning that Lopez had cheated. The Saved By the Bell alum confessed to the infidelity in his 2014 memoir, Just Between Us, adding that the subsequent confrontation with the former pageant queen made him realize that he wasn't ready for marriage.

In March 2022, Landry said on the "Unfolding Leadership" podcast that she is now "grateful" for the way the situation made her take control of her life.

The One Tree Hill costars split just five months after their 2005 wedding, with Bush filing for an annulment in 2006. However, her request was denied and their divorce was finalized in December 2006. "I think lots of people do stupid s--t before their prefrontal cortexes are fully formed and they're not until they're 26," the False Positive star said about her whirlwind marriage during an August 2021 appearance on Michael Rosenbaum's "Inside of You" podcast. "So you do the math on my timeline. I literally didn't have a whole brain. I have humor and grace for being a kid and having the experience that I have."

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries

The reality star famously ended her marriage to Humphries in October 2011, 72 days after their lavish, televised wedding. While Kardashian filed for divorce, the basketball player filed for an annulment, citing "fraud." His request was ultimately dropped, and their split was finalized in April 2013 — after 536 days of legal battles.

Nicky Hilton and Todd Meister

Before marrying James Rothschild in July 2015, Hilton was briefly married to Todd Meister. Two months after their Vegas wedding, the heiress ended the relationship, with a source telling Us at the time, "They’re working on an annulment. Nicky and Todd remain the best of friends, but she is 21, and it’s just not the right time in her life for her to be married. He lives in New York; she’s in L.A."

Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman

After dating for just a few months, the model and the NBA player eloped during a vacation to Las Vegas in November 1998. Nine days later, Rodman filed for an annulment on the ground that he had not been of sound mind when he and Electra tied the knot. Despite trying to reconcile a few times, they filed for divorce in March 1999.

“Our relationship was very passionate. When it was good, it was amazing. And when it was bad, it was the worst," the Scary Movie actress told Us in October 2014. "[The wedding] happened so fast. It was so spontaneous, and I remember right after, ‘Oh god, what did we do?'”

The couple first got married in October 2007 but filed for an annulment just two months later. In January 2014, they secretly walked down the aisle for the second time after rekindling their romance, before Anderson filed for divorce seven months later. The Baywatch alum changed her mind and got back together with Salomon, before finally calling it quits in February 2015.
