Christina Haack and Ant Anstead: A Timeline of Their Relationship

Christina sparked speculation that she was dating Ant after she posted a selfie on New Year’s Day congratulating him on the U.K. premiere of Wheeler Dealers. Shortly after, Us Weekly exclusively revealed the pair were dating.

The interior designer stopped by the Us Weekly studios and opened up about her ex’s feelings on her then-boyfriend. “Tarek likes him,” she explained at the time. “What’s not to like? Everybody likes him. He’s a great guy.” As for her kids, Christina added: “They love him. His kids are amazing. Like I said, he’s a great dad ... His kids are very grounded and they’re very polite. They’re great kids.”

“This is by far the happiest I’ve been in a while. I’m really excited about the future,” Christina told Us at the time. “I’m excited about the show, I’m excited about the move, I’m in a great relationship, my kids are doing well. Everything’s going really good.”

A milestone moment! Though Us broke the news of Christina and Ant’s relationship in January 2018, the California native revealed in a first anniversary post on Instagram that the pair began their relationship in October 2017, calling their meeting “fate.”

They do! Despite never announcing an engagement, Christina and Ant sealed their romance with a wedding at their West Coast home.

Days after tying the knot, the Christina on the Coast star was seen rocking her gorgeous wedding ring during a family outing with her love and their kids in Anaheim, California.

The home improvement guru dished details on their wedding and revealed to Us the special way the duo’s children took part in the celebration. “They loved the wedding,” Christina said. “They each got up and made little speeches, and we really included them on the big day. They’re all doing really good. They’re settled, happy and content.”

Baby on board! Christina announced in a sweet Instagram post that she and her husband were expecting their first child together. “@ant_anstead and I are so excited to announce #babyanstead coming this September,” she wrote alongside a picture of the pair holding an ultrasound picture. “The kids are all so excited to meet their new sibling #5 #Gonnaneedabiggercar.”

Days after revealing her pregnancy news, Christina showed off her tiny baby bump in an Instagram post and gave an update on how she had been feeling. “Now that I can talk about [it], the first trimester was brutal!” she wrote. “Maybe it’s my age (35- considered a geriatric pregnancy 🤦🏼‍♀️🙄) lol… or maybe I just forgot how bad it was with Tay and Bray. But yikes it really blind sided [sic] me. Nausea, exhaustion, too many food aversions, too many carbs…. anyways I’m officially back to feeling somewhat normal. Going to try and enjoy the second trimester while it’s here.”

In honor of Ant’s 40th birthday, Christina surprised the car lover with a new ride — a vintage 1958 Porsche Reutter Coupe. “40 never looked so good!!” she captioned an Instagram pic of the silver car with a red bow on top. “@ant_anstead I love you my husband, best friend, baby daddy, You complete me. Happy 40th!! Cheers to doing the next 40 together.”

Tarek accidentally spilled the beans on the gender of Anstead's baby during an interview with TMZ. “She’s remarried, she’s actually pregnant — everybody knows that,” he said before noting that Christina is “having a son.”

Not sweating it! “While Christina and Ant wished they could have shared the news themselves, they are very excited to welcome a baby boy in the fall,” a rep for Christina told Us after the accidental gender reveal.

“Six months of marriage with you and look at where life has already taken us,” Christina wrote on Instagram in June celebrating her six-month wedding anniversary with Ant. “Baby on the way, amazing career opportunities, travel adventures. Manifesting those vision board goals with you is a dream. @ant_anstead love you and love this life with you."

On September 6, the couple welcomed son Hudson London Anstead. "Our hearts are SO full of love and joy!” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Our healthy baby boy was born this morning- 9/6/19 – 7 lbs 7 oz 19.5 inches long."

Three weeks after giving birth, Christina said she overdid it at her daughter's 9th birthday party and "was lifting and running around all weekend." Afterward, she had to go back to bed rest. Regardless, Ant told ET she was a “superhuman” who already had the spring back “in her step.”

In December, the couple celebrated one year of marriage. Christina shared a wedding video via Instagram and gushed about her husband. "1 year ago today! I still get emotional watching this! What a year it’s been. I was 2 weeks pregnant with baby Hudson here and had no idea," she wrote. "@Ant_anstead I love you, our blended family and this life with you."

The couple announced their decision to split on September 18. "Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate. We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority," she wrote via Instagram at the time. "We appreciate your support and ask for privacy for us and our family as we navigate the future."

Us confirmed in November 2020 that Christina officially filed for divorce from the U.K. native, less than two months after announcing their split. The Christina On the Coast star submitted the paperwork to a courthouse in Orange County, California, the previous month.

On June 21, the former couple's divorce was finalized, Us Weekly confirmed. They will share custody of their son, Hudson.

Us confirmed that the pair equally divided their possessions shortly after signing off on their divorce paperwork, with Christina keeping her wedding ring, two luxury vehicles and five properties: one in Tennessee and four in California. Ant, for his part, secured seven cars — including a Porsche, a Range Rover and a Ford Mustang — and maintained complete ownership of his businesses. Neither party will be required to pay child or spousal support.

Ant filed for full custody of their son, Hudson, Us confirmed. His petition was rejected the same day it was filed and Christina claimed that her ex-husband was "trying to smear my good name and tarnish my image" with his claims.

Amid their ongoing custody battle, Ant and Christina were ordered to attend mediation in order to address their visitation disputes.

Ant appeared to slam his ex-wife's parenting once again by claiming that she uses Hudson as a "puppet" for her own benefit on social media. "Being a kid and capturing organic moments in the footsteps of a toddler I’m all in favour of! It’s a lovely diary to keep and look back on. But being a puppet “used” for commercial gain and being made to perform makes my stomach sick. The two are of course very different x x," he wrote via his Instagram comments.

The next day, Christina appeared to fire back with a photo of Hudson holding hands with his older half-brother, Brayden. "Occasionally Instagram is reality," she wrote via Instagram.

As the twosome prepared for their September 2022 custody hearing, an insider told Us that the exes “hope to resolve their issues in due time.”

“Christina and Ant are coparenting as best as they can ahead of their upcoming hearing,” the source said. “They both have a busy summer schedule and are making it work, splitting time with Hudson.”

Ahead of a custody hearing, Ant accused his ex-wife of exploiting Hudson in her promotional social media posts and on reality TV. "One of my many fears of Hudson being forced to film reality TV is the possibility that public ridicule over seemingly benign content becomes insurmountably humiliating,” he wrote in court documents obtained by Us. “I urge the courts to review the recent and tragic case of Kailia Posey and a defining embarrassing meme.” Posey, a Toddlers & Tiaras alum, died by suicide at age 16 in May 2022.

Christina fired back in her own declaration and accused her ex of filing his petition "solely for the purpose of making these inflammatory statements" about her. "I am a dedicated and protective mother and am diligent about the welfare of all my children," she wrote. "I am saddened that Ant continues to impugn my character and continues to portray me in a false light."

Amid the twosome’s ongoing custody battle, Christina revealed how “mentally exhausted” she is amid Anstead’s allegations.

“Hudson’s father has made attempts to turn my family, friends and fans against me through manipulation tactics and false information,” she wrote, in part, via Instagram. “Hudson’s father has made it clear via his public court filings he is using Instagram to rate the kind of parent I am, since that is the only access he has to my personal life.”

The HGTV star ultimately planned to stop featuring Hudson on her social media moving forward. She added: “My personal collection of photos on my phone and in our home are filled with memories of my children, so Hudson will be just fine without having his presence displayed on a public forum.”

The former couple settled their custody battle and canceled their planned March 2023 trial, according to People. A judge declared that the duo would "continue to have joint legal and joint physical custody," which is what they initially agreed upon in June 2021. Holidays — including Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas — were divvied up evenly between the coparents.
