Mathews left a bizarre comment underneath a post shared by Jersey Shore alum Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola in November 2008. After Giancola posted a photo of herself posing in a dress from her Sweetheart Styles fashion line which she captioned, “Fun fact.. my mom took this photo,” Mathews randomly responded, “Fun fact. My wife finds me repulsive.”

The couple got into an explosive fight over making plans to see one another while Farley was filming Snooki & JWoww in 2012. “You put me in the same mindset that I was in two years ago — some insecure little f–k that you didn't give a f–k about. … I’m hurt and if you don't want to speak to me for the rest of this time, that's fine. I'm trying to be the adult here for once,” the reality star told Mathews, who was her boyfriend at the time. “By telling me I should be with my ex, you can go f–k yourself! And you can burn in hell."

Mathews shared a photo from their October 2015 wedding on their three-year anniversary. “8 years together total. 3006 days together,” he captioned the shot, posted on Instagram on October 2018. Oddly, he noted, “Not one of them was a flawless day,” before adding, “Not one of them would I change.”

Mathews shared a sweet shot of Farley kissing him in April. “My wife and I agree we are sick of celeb couples pretending to have the perfect relationship and when they separate they come out with some PC statement that someone else wrote about how they are the best of friends still. … Well we gonna keep it real for you. Some days it’s a struggle to stay together. Some days she calls me a f—king dick head (cause I am). Some days the grass looks greener on the other side,” he admitted on Instagram. “But we are perfectly imperfect for each other. We aren’t even close to perfect and I have no intention on pretending that we are.” Never one to let a chance to ruin a sweet moment go by, Mathews added, “Ps — I still own a penis in case you forgot. Which I believe you did.”

The Young Americans With Jenni "JWoww" Farley star hinted at trouble in her marriage while speaking with Us Weekly about the sleeping arrangements in her household. “Greyson goes [to sleep] with Dad. He sleeps with him from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., but if Roger tries to get up and do anything, he wakes up. That’s why when Roger gets up for work, Greyson is up,” she told Us in September 2018. “It drives me nuts because it’s like, ‘I want to sleep in. I went to bed at midnight.’”

Mathews handled Farley’s absence while filming the Jersey Shore reboot by recounting their romance through the years in a sweet Instagram tribute, joking, “2018 one has a mid life crisis and flies to Miami with old friends and leaves said husband for a really jacked dude from the club named Billy Bad Ass that can flex his pec muscles to the tune of Jingle Bells. He later asked of his the entrepreneur, ”If you’re going to break up with me, please don’t call me on that stupid f—king duck phone and do it.”

After Farley’s filing for divorce made headlines, Mathews shared his side of the story in a video posted on Instagram — and he owned up to his role in the dissolution of their marriage. “My wife filed for divorce, it’s true. I’m just going to keep it simple. I don’t blame her. There’s no cheating or any dumb s—t or any juicy details,” he said in September 2018. “She just grew tired of the repetitive pattern that we fell into … and [it was] not a good one. But here’s what’s also true: I’m not done fighting.” He also added that he has no intention of being a single dad — and that the pair were in counseling.

The estranged couple celebrated their anniversary in October 2018 with a romantic dinner where they enjoyed a meal alongside red wine. Mathews seemed semi-optimistic sharing a photo of the pair together that he captioned, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

Joking that “technology is an amazing thing,” Mathews shared a photo of himself connected to what looked to be a spinal cord stimulator in early October 2018. “Science has advanced to the point my where they make shock therapy specifically designed for men to become better husbands. I had this device installed with shock leads that go directly into my spine and my wife holds the controller and settings. It’s called the ’Dirtbag 9000,’” he quipped. “It has voice recognition so if you question your wife it will light you up like a f—king Christmas tree. It has four settings. 1. You’re a c—t 2. I should have stayed with my ex 3. I hope you die a slow painful death 4. Just for fun.” Although his tone was unclear, he clarified his intention by adding, “Humor has always been my way through life. Praying for a better tomorrow. Love you @jwoww.”

Mathews claimed on Instagram in December 2018 that police escorted him out of the family’s house after Farley filed a temporary order of protection against him. “My wife was screaming in my daughter’s face, ’Your father’s a piece of s—t. He’s out of here. He’s out of here. I’m sorry I ever had children with him,’” he alleged.
“I’m not allowed to be there for my children anymore because somebody else is so hate-filled that they would do that to the father of their children, to a great father to their children,” the truck driver said in another upload. “It’s sad, man. It’s just sad.”
A statement posted on Farley’s Instagram page the same morning claimed the reality star was acting in her and her children’s best interest. “Any statements and social media posts depicting anything to the contrary are entirely false, misleading, and intentionally designed to cast Jenni in a negative light,” the message read.

Farley accused her estranged husband in January 2019 of abuse and mistreating their two children. “You are an abuser to the core, Roger Mathews. … You have spit at me. You have pushed me. You have shoved me. You have aggressively thrown me to the ground,” she claimed in a lengthy blog post. “You have prevented me from closing doors to escape having you coming at me. You have belittled and disparaged me. You have threatened me.”
She continued to allege: “I have been broken down, beaten, hospitalized, traumatized, threatened, degraded, battered, and abused. I got out. I stand strong today. For me. For Greyson. For Meilani.”
In response, Mathews’ rep told Us: “At this time we will not be giving a comment on this matter. Thank you for understanding.”
