Amy Poehler Kisses Bono, Boyfriend Nick Kroll Warns U2 Frontman to “Watch His Back”

Amy Poehler made out like a bandit — in more ways than one — at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 12. The co-host not only took home the trophy for Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy, for her role on Parks and Recreation, but also kissed U2 frontman and fellow Globes winner Bono…much to the (fake) chagrin of boyfriend Nick Kroll.

As Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke and NCIS: Los Angeles actor Chris O’Donnell read the nominations in Poehler’s category, the camera panned over to where the SNL alum was sitting with (and getting a massage from!) the Irish singer-songwriter. Upon hearing her name announced as the winner, she jokingly planted a huge smooch on Bono’s lips before heading up onstage to accept the award.

“Wow, I was not prepared for this. Wow, Parks! I’ve never won anything like this,” the 42-year-old comedienne exclaimed. “Oh my gosh, I didn’t have a speech.”

She then proceeded to thank the cast and crew on her NBC sitcom, whom she called “the best cast in comedy and drama, as far as I’m concerned. This is the best job.”

“[Thank you to] my beautiful family, who’s always supported me,” she continued. “My wonderful children [Archie, 5, and Abel, 3], who are my double-A batteries and make everything worthwhile…Oh, this is so cliche, but you get really nervous! I’m just so thrilled to be a part of this evening among such great people as you. I never win, so I can’t believe I won. Thank you so much for including me, Hollywood Foreign Press. And for all of you I’ve forgotten, I owe you a deep debt of gratitude, and you know who you are.”

Kroll, 35, was among those who went unmentioned by Poehler. Shortly after her big win (and subsequent makeout with Bono), he took to Twitter to jokingly warn the U2 singer to stay away from his lady.

“Hey Bono, watch your back,” the League actor quipped.

Us Weekly first broke the news of Poehler’s romance with Kroll back in May 2013. She announced her separation from husband Will Arnett eight months earlier, in September 2012.
