Sing it loud! The 2021 Billboard Music Awards brought the noise and the applause when Nick Jonas hosted the Sunday, May 23, show from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The star-studded event wouldn’t have been complete without the biggest names in Hollywood, many of whom were nominated for multiple awards, in attendance.

The Weeknd topped the list of nominees with 16 nods, including Top Artist, Top Male Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist. He earned 10 awards throughout the Sunday event. DaBaby was a close second, earning 11 nominations in nine categories.

Taylor Swift gave The Weeknd a run for his money in the Top Artist category, but the “Save the Tears” singer, 31, took home the trophy. The “Exile” singer, 31, was also a contender in the Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album for Folklore, winning two of the four categories she was nominated in.

Country singer Gabby Barrett, however, had the most nods of any female artist this year. She was a nine-time finalist, including Top New Artist and Top Country Artist, where she went head-to-head with all male artists. The “I Hope” singer, 21, competed against the legendary Carrie Underwood and Maren Morris for Top Country Female Artist — and surpassed them both.

Ahead of one of music’s biggest nights, Billboard announced that Drake would receive the prestigious Artist of the Decade Award after being ranked the best-performing artist of the last decade. The “God’s Plan” rapper, 34, currently holds the title for most Billboard Music Awards with 29 total as of Sunday.

Pink also got a special trophy, the Icon Award, during the Sunday broadcast. The coveted award honors musicians who’ve achieved excellence on the Billboard charts and had a lasting effect on the music industry.

“As a little girl, I always dreamed about being a singer and sharing my love of music with the world,” the “Raise Your Glass” singer, 41, told Billboard ahead of the show. “Years later, to receive the Billboard Music Awards Icon Award is hard to fathom! I feel so honored to join the ranks of music idols like Cher, Garth Brooks, Janet Jackson and Stevie Wonder. It’s a true ‘pinch me’ moment and I feel humbled and blessed.”

Rapper Trae Tha Truth was also honored with the Change Maker Award for his philanthropic work and efforts for social justice.
