Lindsay Hubbard is giving the fans what they want by bringing country singer Dustin Lynch onto In the City for a fun and flirty cameo — with a little “drama” for good measure.
“It was perfect timing, because I was up there and Linds and I have been trying to get together and hang out for a long time,” Dustin, 41, exclusively told Us Weekly on Thursday, June 4, at his fourth annual Pool Situation: Nashville CMA party at the Margaritaville Hotel in Nashville, while reflecting on his upcoming Bravo cameo. “It happened to be weird, like, ‘Oh crap, I’m going to be in New York City.’ She goes, ‘Well, we’re filming,’ so it was perfect timing.”
The “Small Town Boy” singer — who was rumored to be romantically linked to Lindsay, 39, in 2023 — admitted that filming a reality show in the Big Apple was out of his usual comfort zone.
“I’m nervous in New York City, first off. It’s not really what I’m used to,” Dustin said before turning to Lindsay and calling her a “great tour guide.” (The pair flirt with ease but have denied being anything more than friends.)
Despite his nerves, Dustin told Us that briefly stepping into the Bravo world was “fun” — and Lindsay agreed.

“No, it was so much fun, and he is such a natural on reality television,” Lindsay teased in the joint interview.
Dustin added that the fun was interrupted a few times by the tension in the cast. “There was drama happening, though,” he shared. “I feel like I came in as a lifeguard, you know, refereeing.”
The country singer explained to Us that his first interaction with the cast was at a rooftop bar, joking, “So we had some drinks to flow and really get the emotions going.”
Lindsay chimed in, saying, “I gave you a lay of the land. I didn’t, like, completely let him go in blind. I was like, ‘Here’s all the friends, here’s a little bit of the drama, just so you know what you’re gonna walk into.’”
Dustin teased that there was a “big bombshell” that dropped “earlier that day,” which fans will see play out on the episode as well.
Lindsay was visibly surprised by Lynch’s tease, responding, “Wait, what happened that day?”
While the pair, whose playful connection was evident during Us’ interview, didn’t give away too much about the upcoming story line, Lindsay said that Dustin “really bonded” with her best friend Yvonne Najor’s husband, Nick Barber, and Summer House alum Andrea Denver.
“What I can tell you is Dustin Lynch is a natural on reality television. I was shocked,” Lindsay told Us, smiling proudly at her longtime friend.
Dustin took the compliment but maintained he was “nervous” to be on TV because it’s “not my thing.”
“I felt like a bit of fish out of water, but I fell right in,” Dustin confessed.
Lindsay disagreed with his assessment, telling Us, “No, he wasn’t, though. He was not a fish out of water. You were so involved, you were in it.”
Dustin played coy about the cast drama he was privy to but confirmed he was an active participant during his cameo.
“I don’t know if I put it out there, but I ended up inside taking a side by the end of the night,” he said.
Lindsay agreed, teasing, “And it was a good side to take at the end of the day.”
Dustin had a big grin on his face, hinting that his hot take wasn’t well received in the moment. “I think I got scolded initially, though,” he claimed, looking directly at Lindsay.
“I didn’t scold you,” Lindsay responded, making a cheeky face. “I mean, we were just — OK, here’s the thing, Kyle [Cooke]‘s a DJ, Dustin has a Vegas residency where he DJs all of his club set remixes, and he can understand that lifestyle.”
Lindsay hinted that Kyle, 43, and his decision to pursue a DJ career without having his then-wife, Amanda Batula, completely on board led to a little friction between the group while Dustin was in town. (Kyle and Amanda, 34, announced their split in January after four years of marriage.)
“We were, like, having a discussion about that. I have no idea if it’s gonna be in there or not, but yeah, you were, like, coming from experience,” Lindsay teased of the story line.
Dustin added, “I was just explaining reality,” which got a laugh from Lindsay. “Not Dustin Lynch explaining reality,” she responded.
While Dustin’s appearance on the Tuesday, June 9, episode of In the City is his only one this season, he told Us that his dynamic with Lindsay and her crew made him want to stay longer.
“I had a blast. In fact, the next day I was telling my team, I was like, ‘This is addicting.’ It really is,” he shared with Us. “I see how you’ve done so many seasons now, [Lindsay].”
Lindsay grinned before asking, “So you’re saying you would do it again?”
“Yeah, absolutely,” Dustin replied without skipping a beat. “If you think dinner with friends is fun, do it with this crew. I mean, it’s out of control. It’s a good time.”
In the City airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
