Diane von Furstenberg is a huge name in luxury fashion around the world, but everyone already knows that. The designer brand made a name for itself with its “iconic” wrap dresses with bold and colorful signature prints. The DVF dress we just found is not only a wrap dress, but its unique prints are seriously something else. It’s a must-have for warmer weather and we can’t wait to wear it!
The Diane von Furstenberg Collared Wrap Dress Cover-Up is unlike other floral dresses we see at the mall or flimsy cover-ups we find on the boardwalk. It’s instantly distinguishable and we can’t imagine ever wearing it and not receiving a compliment or answering an inquiry about where we bought it. Which is awesome! We love spilling the details about a great sale, and with this dress being 40% off, we’ve got a lot to spill!

Even before we get into the wow factor of this dress’ visuals, we want to go a little more granular. Let’s talk fabric. This dress is a mix of cotton and silk and nothing else. That sure beats sweaty polyester and see-through mesh! Knowing these fabric details, the way this breezy dress ebbs and flows in the wind makes complete sense.
This is a lightweight, midi-length dress, its hem falling toward the bottoms of the calves. It’s long, but not too long, so if we want to wear it to a pool party, beach trip or grassy picnic, we won’t need to slip into crazy-high heels or platform wedges to keep the skirt off the ground. We can stick with sandals, slides and flats if they better suit an occasion, even if it’s just weekend brunch in town. We’re pretty sure stilettos don’t mix too well with sand, anyway.
At the top of the dress is a carefree collar that lays gently atop our shoulders. There are no buttons on this dress; it’s wrap-style, so a natural V-neckline forms as one side of the fabric tucks into the other. There are chest pockets, though! Look closely, because they’re brilliantly camouflaged into the dress’ print.
At the natural waist is a sash tie which also camouflages into the dress, taking on the same print. This tie has a waist-defining and flattering effect, which we never see from loose and shapeless cover-ups. Those cover-ups are mostly just focusing on existing and that being good enough, while this one is making sure to focus on our fashionable, feminine side while still functioning flawlessly.

The sleeves of this dress aren’t short, but they’re not quite long, either. They hit just before the wrist, flaring out slightly at the ends for a hint and nod at a bell-sleeve style. They have a cut-out at the cuff to enhance this effect. The cut-out is also a smart touch because it allows air to flow in and out of the sleeves and keep us cool in the sun. The best part is, because these sleeves hit before the wrist, we can still wear bracelets and bangles to enhance our look even further!
Hewes Currant Multi, which is the 40% off shade, is a gorgeous mix of colors we don’t typically see put together. The base of the dress is a dark maroon, but it’s filled with large floral pops throughout. The wispy flower pattern is eye-catching, with two shades of blue, aqua and cobalt, playing with and around each other. These flowers have white stems with leaves attached to them. The leaves are a mix of romantic red and pink. Hello, beautiful color combination. We weren’t expecting this meeting but it feels serendipitous!
The other stunning shade of this dress is Windsor Palm Giant Vetiver. It has a black base, but is covered in oversized yet gentle green palm leaves. These leaves fall and layer in all directions and produce even more of a pop with their white outline and bright yellow detailing. This dress keeps it bold and bright without overdoing it, falling back on the sparse black background to hold everything together.
No matter how or where we wear this dress, we just know it will quickly become a staple in our wardrobe. DVF says that we’ll rely on it more than we think, but we’re already picturing ourselves wearing it all the time! Only one way to find out!
