She’s got that Meghan Markle sparkle alright! A source confirms to Us Weekly that Duchess Meghan redesigned the engagement ring that Prince Harry had given her — adding more diamonds to the band.
Royal watchers first noticed that the bauble looked different when the 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex attended the Trooping the Colour ceremony earlier in June — marking her first official appearance since she and Harry introduced their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world on May 8, 2019.

The original design — which the fashion star showed off in her official engagement announcement photos in November 2017 — featured one large diamond surrounded by two smaller diamonds set on a yellow gold band. Now, the three diamonds are set on a slimmer band of pavé diamonds.
Harry explained to the BBC during a post-engagement interview with his fiancée that he used a new rock from Africa combined with diamonds that his mum, Princess Diana, once wore. “The ring is yellow gold, because that’s [Meghan’s] favorite, and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana, and the little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection to make sure that she’s with us on this — on this crazy journey together,” he said.

Meghan praised the design at the time, telling the BBC, “Everything about Harry’s thoughtfulness and the inclusion of [Princess Diana’s stones] and obviously not being able to meet his mom, it’s so important to me to know that she’s a part of this with us.”
At the Trooping the Colour parade, which celebrates Queen Elizabeth’s birthday, the Suits alum also debuted a new ring! Fans speculated the new bling added to the stack on her ring finger — a diamond eternity band — was a push present from Harry. But a source confirmed to Us Weekly that it was actually a first anniversary gift.

An insider also confirmed to Us Weekly that the duchess’ next official appearance will be at Wimbledon, which starts June 28. “She’s very much looking forward to attending,” the source told Us of Meghan’s excitement over the famed London tennis tournament.
