Dax Shepard was born on January 2, 1975 in Milford, Mich. Shepard’s acting career started with a few small roles in movies, but his biggest claim to fame came when he was cast in a starring role on MTV’s Punk’d.

Shepard continues to take on film projects, including Idiocracy, Cheaper by the Dozen,and Baby Mama, but is most notorious for being romantically linked to Kate Hudson after the controversial breakup between Hudson and Owen Wilson. Soon after his breakup with Hudson, Shepard began dating Kristen Bell in 2007. He proposed to his When in Rome costar over the holidays, and his bride-to-be debuted her engagement ring at the 2010 Grammy Awards.

In November 2012, Shepard and Bell announced they would be welcoming their first child the following spring.
