Born in Washington, D.C. in 1974, Alyson Hannigan is best known for her role as Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Hannigan now keeps TV audiences laughing as Lily on the CBS surprise breakout hit How I Met Your Mother. Earning the nickname of “that band camp girl” for her work on the three films in the American Pie franchise, Hannigan has also appeared in bit roles on the TV series Roseanne and Veronica Mars. Capitalizing on the teen audience who loved her in the Pie films, Hannigan starred in Dead Man On Campus and Date Movie. For her role on Buffy, Hannigan was awarded a Teen Choice Award and a Saturn Award.

Hannigan has been married to actor and former Buffy costar Alexis Denisof since 2003. The couple has two daughters – Satyana and Keeva.
