Elijah Wood is an American actor and producer best known for playing Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–2003) and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012). He began his career as a child actor with roles in Back to the Future Part II (1989), Avalon (1990), The Good Son (1993) and The Faculty (1998).

Beyond his iconic role as Frodo, Wood has shown his range in films such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), Sin City (2005) and the animated hit Happy Feet (2006). He also cofounded SpectreVision, a production company specializing in horror films.

On the TV side, Wood led Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency from 2016-2017 and has been a series regular on Yellowjackets since 2023.

Wood has been in a relationship with Danish producer Mette-Marie Kongsved since 2018, with whom he shares two children, a son born in 2019 and a daughter born in 2022.
