Kit Harington

Kit Harington is an English actor best known for playing Jon Snow on HBO’s Game of Thrones, a role that made him an international star and earned him multiple Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe nomination. Harington was born in London, where he developed an early interest in acting and participated in school productions growing up. He went on to study drama and theater at Worcester Sixth Form College before attending the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where he graduated in 2008.

Harington began his professional acting career onstage, earning attention for his leading role in the original West End production of War Horse in 2009. His breakthrough came in 2011 when he was cast as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones. The fantasy drama became a global phenomenon and turned Harington into one of television’s most recognizable stars during its eight-season run.

In addition to Game of Thrones, Harington is known for his appearances in films including Silent Hill: Revelation (2012), Pompeii (2014), Eternals (2021) and Eternal Return (2025). He has also continued his stage career with productions including Doctor Faustus and True West. His performance as Jon Snow earned him two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

Harington began dating Rose Leslie, his Game of Thrones costar, after meeting on the series in 2011. The couple announced their engagement in 2017 and tied the knot the following year. They share two children: a son (born in 2021) and a daughter (born in 2023).
