Peter Cook

Peter Cook is an American architect best known for his marriage to model Christie Brinkley and the highly publicized divorce that followed. Cook spent his childhood in West Orange, New Jersey, studying architecture before launching his own architectural firm, specializing in high-end residential homes in the Hamptons.

Cook began his career as an architect after apprenticing with Hamptons architect Eugene Futterman and established his own firm in 1987. He became known for designing luxury Shingle-style homes throughout the Hamptons. He later entered the public spotlight through his relationship with Christie Brinkley. Their marriage and subsequent split became tabloid news after allegations of his affair surfaced in 2006, leading to a lengthy and widely covered divorce and custody battle that was finalized in 2008.

Cook married Brinkley in 1996 after reconnecting years after they first met. They welcomed daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook (born in 1998), and he also adopted Brinkley’s son, Jack Brinkley Cook (born in 1995), from her previous marriage to Richard Taubman. The pair divorced in 2008. In 2023, he wed Alba Jancou, who is almost 40 years his junior.
