While Heidi Klum and Seal have maintained an amicable coparenting relationship raising their three kids, the supermodel has made an emergency filing asking that she be allowed to bring her children abroad to film Next Top Model.
“The kids want to be with Heidi,” a source told Us Weekly of Leni, 16, Henry, 14, Johan, 13, and Lou, 10, on Friday, August 21. “She has to go to Germany because of limitations of crew coming to the United States during [the coronavirus pandemic], so she is bringing them back for a few weeks at Christmas to spend time with their dad.”
The insider added that the reality show’s total filming time “is about two months.”
Klum and the “Kiss From a Rose” singer, 57, called it quits in 2012, and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model told Redbook three years later that she is “a mom and a dad at the same time” to their three children.
“Obviously, things have changed,” the former Victoria’s Secret Angel explained in the 2015 interview. “But they haven’t changed drastically. He was never your typical dad who left for work in the morning with his briefcase and would be home by dinnertime every night. He traveled a lot. The kids knew it was part of his job.”
Klum added at the time: “Women are capable of juggling a lot of balls — we do things that guys just cannot do. Men typically can juggle only one ball, and even then they’re like, ‘I’m confused. Should I put it in my right or left hand?’ A lot of them have a very hard time just trying to figure out what to do with that one ball. And often they want us to hold that one too!”
Kaulitz chimed in, “I think it’s working out pretty good.”
Klum’s children were involved in her nuptials, she exclusively told Us ahead of the ceremony. “It’s very easy with four children,” the Heidi Klum’s Body of Knowledge author explained in February 2019. “There’s already two groomsmen and two bridesmaids.”Listen to Us Weekly's Hot Hollywood as each week the editors of Us break down the hottest entertainment news stories!
