“We are excited to share the happy news that our @MeghanMcCain and her husband Ben Domenech have welcomed their first child, daughter Liberty Sage McCain Domenech!” The View announced on Monday, September 28, via its Instagram page. “Congratulations Meghan and Ben! ❤️”

The View cohost, 35, announced her pregnancy news in March. “My husband Ben and I have been blessed to find out I’m pregnant, the Arizona native wrote via Instagram at the time. “Although this isn’t how I expected to announce my pregnancy, both we and our families are excited to share the news with you all. I consulted with my doctors and they advised that for the safety of my baby and myself, I should be extra vigilant about limiting the amount of people we come into contact with.”

The Dirty Sexy Politics author went on to write, “Starting immediately, I’ll be joining the millions of Americans who are self-isolating as a precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a result, I will be appearing on The View from home via satellite.”

McCain and Domenech, 38, tied the knot in November 2017, three months after their engagement.

In July 2019, the Emmy nominee revealed in a New York Times essay that she had suffered a pregnancy loss. “Ben and I are the luckiest, most incredibly blessed people in the world surrounded by love and support,” she wrote of the miscarriage via Instagram. “My hope is by continuing to share grief and loss, and addressing these taboo subjects head on it will help people who have experienced the same to feel less alone.”

McCain didn’t want other women to feel “alone” in their pain, writing, “I was petrified to share my story publicly but I never, ever let fear dictate my life choices. I will always take the leap, I will always roll the dice.”

The journalist previously insisted she is “coming back” to the ABC show after her birth. “It’s an election cycle,” McCain explained during an August 2020 Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen appearance. “Why does everyone ask me if I’m getting fired or quitting every 20 seconds? No other host has to deal with this BS.”
