Behind every company are strong women leading the way — for Cutting Edge Group, it’s Chief Operating Officer Tara Finegan.
The London-born Harvard graduate, 31, is responsible for acquiring and creating music rights and providing music services for feature films, TV shows, brands and video games at the L.A.-based company.
In her role as COO, she has been credited as Executive Music Producer of the Academy Award nominated Hacksaw Ridge starring Andrew Garfield and Vince Vaughn, Don Jon starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Scarlett Johansson, Gold starring Matthew McConaughey and Bryce Dallas Howard, and Robert Redford’s upcoming The Old Man & The Gun.
Finegan is also an executive producer of the box-office smash hit John Wick, the upcoming Keanu Reeves project Replicas, and the soon-to-be released Vita & Virginia starring Gemma Arterton and Elizabeth Debicki, among many others.
Additionally, Finegan played a large part of working on the music team on the Academy Award winning Whiplash and its Grammy-nominated soundtrack album and also put together a slate venture between Cutting Edge Group and Thunder Road Pictures, which has resulted in a very successful music partnership on the John Wick franchise, Sicario and Sicario: Day of The Soldado, 24 Hours to Live, and the upcoming A Private War starring Rosamund Pike and Jamie Dornan.
Most notably, Finegan was responsible for licensing Cutting Edge’s Share involved with YSL’s “Black Opium” campaign, which featured The Weeknd’s “The Hills.”
