A rocky romance. Scott Disick and Sofia Richie couldn't have been more in love after sparking up a relationship in 2017 — but the duo's flame eventually fizzled out nearly three years later. The Flip It Like Disick star was first seen cozying up to the model, who is 16 years his junior, during a fun-filled getaway to the South of France in May 2017. Four months later, Us Weekly confirmed that the flirty pair were hooking up. "Things became official over the past week while they were in New York City together," a source explained at the time. "It's so weird. Not just the age difference, but mostly the fact that Sofia had been a family friend for years, and was close to Kendall and Kylie [Jenner]." Before heating things up with Richie, Disick was in a longtime on-off relationship with Kourtney Kardashian, with whom he shares children Mason, Penelope and Reign. For years, fans watched the former pair's drama play out on Keeping Up With the Kardashians until they called it quits once and for all in 2015 after nine years together. Despite her own ups and downs with her ex, the Poosh founder gave Richie her full stamp of approval. "Kourtney thinks Sofia brings out the best in Scott and is happy for them," a source revealed in September 2019. "Kourtney and Sofia share a common background and lifestyle, and Sofia is easy to get along with and is a normal girl." "[Sofia] is sad about the situation, but trying to take care of herself." Disick, for his part, was "feeling sad and defeated in a way right now and upset about all the news surrounding his relationship before his split." In July 2020, the pair appeared to be back on yet again. However, Us confirmed in mid-August 2020 that the pair were on another break and “spending time apart.” Disick moved on with model Amelia Gray Hamlin in October 2020, when the pair were spotted at Kendall Jenner’s birthday bash. The self-proclaimed lord (who previously dated Kourtney Kardashian, with whom he shares children Mason, Penelope and Reign) was seen flirting with the model aboard a yacht in the South of France on May 24 during his 34th birthday getaway. Earlier that week, he cozied up to a bevy of women including Bella Thorne and his ex Chloe Bartoli.

September 2017

Us Weekly exclusively revealed that the couple were officially hooking up. Days later, Disick and Richie headed to Miami. They took a romantic stroll on a beach on September 23 and had dinner with friends at Seaspice restaurant, where they posed in front of a cake that read, “Congratulations Scott and Sophia [sic].”

After crossing paths with Kourtney at a gallery exhibit in November 2018, Disick and Richie went to dinner with his ex at Craig’s in West Hollywood. “Sofia and Kourtney started talking to one another. They seemed very civil and seemed to be getting along,” a source told Us exclusively at the time, noting that things seemed “a little awkward at first.” Kim Kardashian and Larsa Pippen were also at the dinner.

Richie joined Kardashian and Disick on their family vacation days before Christmas in December 2018. The model also joined the former couple and their kids at the Kardashian Christmas Eve party.

“Kourtney, Scott and Sofia are one modern family. Things are totally fine,” an insider told Us at the time. “It wasn’t a surprise that Sofia went away with them — it was a family trip. Sofia and Scott are together, they are in love and she’s part of the family now.”

"Right now, Scott and Sofia aren’t thinking about marriage or getting engaged and it’s not a big topic of conversation. "Scott has done a complete 180 from when he was younger and with Kourtney, and has grown up a lot."

Still going strong! Though the pair faced breakup rumors shortly after the new year, a source reassured Us that the couple was "totally fine." At the time, the couple had just spent time "hanging out" with the model's father, Lionel Richie. Later that month, a separate source explained that Sofia has been a strong support system for her man. "Scott has become such a better man through being in a mature relationship with her," the insider added.

Disick attempted to seek treatment for his "past traumas" but his plans were stalled after photos of him at the rehab facility were leaked online. Shortly after the "violation" of his privacy caused him to leave the center, Us exclusively confirmed that he and Sofia were "on a break" while the reality star continued to work through his issues. "Scott is in an OK place right now and is trying to get better and focus on work, but he has to prove himself," the insider said. "A big part of why he went to rehab was because Sofia wanted him to work on himself."

Us confirmed that the duo had pulled the plug on their relationship less than one week after a source revealed that the pair were taking some time apart. Days before news of their split made headlines, Disick celebrated his 37th birthday in Lake Powell, Utah, with his ex and their three kids — and without Richie. "Sofia and Scott breaking up was only a matter of time," a source later explained. "Scott isn't the best version of himself right now and it has been a lot for Sofia. She is sad about the situation, but trying to take care of himself." Though his relationship may have fizzled out, Disick received the support of Kourtney and the other Kardashian family members, who were trying to "show him how loved and cared for he is."
