‘Summer House’ Recap: Lindsay Gets Called Out for ‘Curbing’ Her Drinking With Carl, Goes ‘Balls to the Walls’ With the Girls

Who’s that girl? Lindsay Hubbard let out her wild side on Summer House — and her female castmates took notice. “I try not to drink in front of Carl [Radke],” Lindsay, 36, said during a girls’ night out on the Monday, March 27, episode of the Bravo series. “I want to, like, f—king go.” Paige DeSorbo joked, “This is the first time we’ve had Lindsay by herself. She’s with Carl, so we never get her alone.” (Lindsay got engaged to Carl, 38, in August 2022.) Lindsay told the group on Monday’s episode that after being sober alongside Carl in late 2021 through spring 2022, she was trying to find her balance. “I try to be respectful a little bit around him and not be like, ‘Balls to the walls!’ But now I want to be like, ‘Balls to the walls!’” she confessed. However, the Hubb House PR founder’s former best friend Danielle Olivera took issue with Lindsay’s new relationship with alcohol. “To be honest, you are curbing your drinking or intensity when you’re around him,” Danielle, 34, told her pal while the rest of the women looked on. So I didn’t have to censor myself. So that we could get f—ked up as girls and not even have to talk about this. Let’s just have fun!” When Paige, 30, questioned why Lindsay was “getting so mad” when they talked about her relationship with Carl, the Florida native once again tried to talk about something else. She then admitted that Danielle was being “very hard” on her lately, which she didn’t appreciate. (Lindsay and Danielle had a falling out in fall 2022 after her engagement.) While Lindsay’s relationship with alcohol appeared to be tied to her then-boyfriend, the businesswoman exclusively told Us Weekly in February that she’s found her center. “It was a lot of, like, compromise and communication and just respect surrounding levels of drinking for me and, like, making sure he’s comfortable,” Lindsay said at the time. “That is one lifestyle that we differ on. Paige Reveals If She’s Ready for Next Steps With Craig

At the beginning of the episode, Paige’s boyfriend, Craig Conover, came to New York for a visit. During one of their mid-week chats, the Southern Charm star, 34, asked, “Have you ever thought what the next step looks like?”

The fashion influencer took a moment and then said, “Right now, I don’t want to change anything. I’m very content with where my life is and where our relationship is.” Paige told her partner that they “get to make the rules” and can do long distance as long as they want.

The “Giggly Squad” podcast cohost later told the cameras: “I like my life the way it is right now. Why would I want to change it because our 1-year anniversary is coming up? Don’t make me grow up. I don’t want to.”

Lindsay and Amanda Have a Heart-to-Heart

After weeks of tension, Lindsay and Amanda Batula met up in the city to talk out their issues. “The only reason I feel like I’ve had tension around you is because I haven’t been able to talk to you,” Lindsay began, to which Amanda, 31, responded, “I’ve been around.”

The publicist confessed that she was “confused” by Amanda’s recent actions, noting, “Throughout the years, yes, we’ve had an interesting friendship. I thought we were getting a lot closer and then, all of a sudden, in the spring it was ‘too soon that Carl and I were moving in,’ or like, ‘Carl’s tainted by Lindsay.’ I just felt, like, whiplash with things that you said that were very hurtful to me.”

Amanda acknowledged that her past remarks about Carl and Lindsay’s relationship weren’t always kind. “When we were texting I straight up apologized. I was getting frustrated because Carl’s opinion was changing from things that we were agreeing on in the summer,” she explained. “In retrospect, he should be supportive of you and taking your side.”

The Loverboy creative director confessed that she used the “wrong word” when she said that Lindsay “tainted” Carl amid the early days of their romance. “I don’t think you understand how sensitive I am. Because as much as a tough girl and as strong as I am, I am human and I have feelings,” the Florida native told Amanda as she teared up. “I can only handle so much. What hurt me the most, I really, truly thought we had this friendship.”

After Amanda pointed out that she “would never” say anything “malicious” toward Lindsay, the twosome buried the hatchet. “I am so sorry. I don’t want to be enemies. I want to be friends with you,” the New Jersey native told Lindsay before they parted ways.

Gabby Wonders Where She Stands With Ciara

Newbie Gabby Prescod confided in Danielle, saying, “I’m not sure where I stand” with housemate Ciara Miller. “There has been a lot of underlying tension. I’m intuitive in a sense that I can tell when someone isn’t really feeling me,” Gabby, 32, revealed during a confessional. “I know that there’s something off.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Danielle asked Ciara, 31, about her dynamic with newcomers Gabby and Sam Feher. “I haven’t really had much one-on-one time with Sam. And honestly, I say the same about Gabby,” Ciara said.

The nurse revealed that she feels like Gabby is “a little surface level with me. It’s hard for me to have artificial relationships. I can’t do it. It’s hard for me to even fake it.”

Girls Call Out Lindsay for ‘Curbing’ Drinking Around Carl

“Do you have your nights where you go balls to the wall in the city?” Ciara asked Lindsay during the group’s girls night out. “No,” she replied, noting that Carl “doesn’t care” if she comes home drunk but her evenings usually end by 10:30 p.m.

Danielle was visibly confused by Lindsay’s new lifestyle choices, asking, “What are you? Suzy Homemaker coming back from a PTA meeting?” Lindsay quipped: “It’s normal s—t that couples do.”

Tension grew even more during the dinner when Lindsay admitted that “there would be no reason” for her to go to Montauk if Carl wasn’t with her. The comment was directed at Danielle’s request for her former BFF to spend time away from the Pittsburgh native one week prior.

“I take strong offense to that, but cool,” Danielle said. “I do [feel sad]. It’s not that I don’t want Carl there, to be honest, you are curbing your drinking or intensity when you’re around him.”

Lindsay defended herself and pointed out that drinking less was a “good thing” for her and Carl amid his sobriety journey. The ladies, however, sensed Lindsay getting “mad” at the topic.

“Danielle, you’re always hard on me. You’ve been getting very hard on me,” she confessed, to which the app designer replied, “Oh, I’m sorry. If your best friend is not f—king hard on you, she shouldn’t be your best friend.”
