Looking for some pointers! Ashley Graham took to her Instagram Stories to share that she was thinking about making a big change to her diet following a breakfast faux pas.
“Last night, before I went to bed I had a brownie, and now I woke up and I’m having a brownie,” the model, 32, said on her Instagram Stories on Monday, August 24 as she nibbled on one of the chocolate treats. “I promise, I think I have a serious sugar addiction.”
The American Beauty Star host added: “I think I’m just going to give it up for a while. Have you ever done that?”
Graham also posted a question on her Stories and asked, “How do I give up sugar? Without major withdrawals?”
Within hours of posting her query, the Nebraska native was inundated with replies and shared dozens of them in subsequent social media updates. “Start baking with monk fruit sugar,” one follower advised. “It tastes better than real sugar.”
Another suggested: “Replace cakes and sweets with fruits.” Additionally, like Graham, many Instagram users were also looking for tips on how to cut sugar from their diets.
“Thank you so much for all of your responses on this whole, like, giving up sugar thing because I think I would be lost without all of your answers,” the Love Advent actress said after reading through many of the replies. “Holy cow, there’s a lot of information out there. And for those of you who are looking for answers, there you go!”
Later, Graham once again thanked her followers for their advice. “The amount of DMs I’ve had about kicking the sugar addiction is amazing,” she said while taking a shower outside. “You guys are a plethora of information.”
The A New Model author also noted that at least one of her followers suggested that her sugar cravings could be related to something a bit more serious. “Somebody has said to check and see if I have parasites. I did have parasites but it was a couple of years ago,” she explained. “I have no idea where I got it or anything, but I was having terrible vertigo and sure enough, parasites.”
The desire to eliminate sugar from her diet came two months after Graham broke her front tooth while eating a frozen cookie baked by her mom. “Shout-out to Linda Graham for making the best oatmeal cookies in the world and putting them in the freezer and having your daughter break her tooth on them,” she said on Instagram at the time, before removing her hand to show that her front right tooth had broken off.”
Sugar or not, the “Pretty Big Deal” podcast host has always been confident in her appearance. Last month, she opened up about her decision to show her true body in the new campaign for her collaboration with Swimsuits for All.
In the photos, shot by her husband Justin Ervin, Graham posed in a printed bikini with her stretch marks proudly front and center. “There’s always a question of, ‘What do you want us to retouch, and what do you want us to take out?’ And I said, ‘Nothing,’ except from a clamp holding up the DIY backdrop,” she shared at the time. “I want everybody to know genuinely … I want people to see who I am because everybody has a story.”
