Lauren Burnham is adding fashion entrepreneur to her resume!
On Tuesday, August 17, the 28-year-old Bachelor alum dropped her very first clothing line called Shades of Rose. “I’m very emotional about it,” she exclusively told Us when discussing the collection. “It’s just been such a long time in the making and it’s finally happening.”
According to the Virginia native, she’s always been passionate about fashion. After all, in high school she used to model for local stores, including a swimwear designer that let her create her own look. “That was really when my eyes were opened up to it.” Since then, she’s worked for brand names like Michael Kors and Hollister. “It’s something I’ve been dreaming about forever, but I’ve put it into motion over the last two years.”
The new launch is a 12-piece collection, featuring all kinds of dreamy lifestyle-inspired pieces. However, the wife of Arie Luyendyk Jr. says her favorite number is the Heather Romper, which she touchingly named after her sister.
While many may assume that the name is a reference to her time on The Bachelor, she assures Us that’s not the case. “It’s more of a women empowerment story for me,” she says. “And the name Shades of Rose actually lends to that. So I don’t want people to think it has anything to do with the Bachelor because it doesn’t.” In fact, the name is actually about the color rose rather than the flower itself.
“For me, that symbolizes femininity and the shades part of that is just embracing every different shade of who you are,” she explains. “I want people to see the brand as inspiration to embrace themselves, whether they are a different race, a different sexuality, they have different beliefs. I want it to be all encompassing.”
Shades of Rose will be available to shop starting today at 3 P.M. PST.
