Hot damn!
She may be just months away from her 70th birthday, but that hasn’t stopped Helen Mirren from being a total bombshell on the red carpet (not that it could!). The British stunner turned heads in a curve-hugging, semi-sheer dress on Monday, March 2 at the Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2015 Spring Gala in NYC.
The Oscar-winning Dame, 69, flaunted her hourglass figured in the fitted, navy blue Stella McCartney design, which boasted sheer illusion side panels.
For added glamour, Mirren, who’s currently starring on Broadway as Queen Elizabeth II in The Audience, accessorized the gown with diamond drop earrings, a structured necklace, and an embellished black clutch.
On the beauty front, the Hundred-Foot Journey actress (who brought husband Taylor Hackford as her date) modeled peach-blushed cheeks, lined eyes, and a raspberry lip. Her blonde crop was coiffed smooth and parted to one side.
Mirren was on hand at the Gala, entitled “There Is Nothing Like a Dame,” to accept the Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre, awarded to the actress for her many bold performances on the stage. The statuette was presented to her by her Arthur costar, Jennifer Garner.
While accepting her award, Mirren noted that while she is a Brit, she very much appreciated being honored in the Big Apple because, she quipped, “There’s a difference between American and English theater actors—American actors learn their lines!”
