Ben Savage

Ben Savage is an actor best known for playing Cory Matthews on the hit ABC series Boy Meets World and its Disney Channel spinoff Girl Meets World. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Savage is the younger brother of actor Fred Savage. He began acting at age 9, landing roles in films like Little Monsters (1989) and Big Girls Don’t Cry… They Get Even (1992). He attended Stanford University, where he graduated with a degree in political science in 2004.

His breakout came in 1993 when he was cast as Cory Matthews on Boy Meets World, which ran for seven seasons until 2000. He reprised the role in Girl Meets World from 2014 to 2017. Throughout his career, he has also appeared on shows such as Bones, Criminal Minds and Phil of the Future.

Outside of acting, Savage has remained active in political and civic engagement. In 2024, he ran as a Democrat for U.S. Congress in California’s 30th District but did not advance past the primary.

Savage married Tessa Angermeier in February 2023 after dating for several years. The two announced in May 2025 that they were expecting their first child together.
