Christian Slater

Christian Slater is an actor and producer best known for his roles in Heathers, True Romance and Mr. Robot. Christian is the son of actor Michael Hawkins and casting director and producer Mary Jo Slater. He spent his childhood in New York City, where he attended the Professional Children’s School and Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. He began acting as a child and went on to pursue acting full time after graduating.

Christian made his feature film debut in The Legend of Billie Jean in 1985. He gained widespread attention with his portrayal of J.D. in 1989’s Heathers, which helped establish him as one of the defining young actors of his generation. He continued his rise in the ’90s with leading roles in films including Pump Up the Volume (1990), Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) and True Romance (1993).

The actor later went on to star in Interview with the Vampire (1994), Broken Arrow (1996), The Wife (2017) and If I Had Legs I’d Kick You (2025). On television, he’s appeared in shows including The West Wing, Alias and Mr. Robot, the latter of which earned him a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film in 2016, along with additional nominations in subsequent years. From 2024 to 2025, he starred in the Showtime drama Dexter: Original Sin.

Chirstian married Ryan Haddon in 2000, and the pair share two children: son Jaden (born in 1999) and daughter Eliana (born in 2001). The couple divorced in 2007. He later wed Brittany Lopez in 2013 and they share two children, daughter Lena (born in 2019) and a son whose name they have kept private (born in 2024).
