Dean McDermott

Dean McDermott is an actor and reality TV personality best known for his marriage to Tori Spelling and, later, for starring alongside her in multiple reality television series. McDermott spent his childhood in Toronto, Canada, where he was raised alongside his three sisters. He went on to develop an interest in performing and began building a career in Canadian television and film productions in the late ’80s.

McDermott appeared in a number of TV movies and series in his early twenties, including T and T, before gaining wider recognition through roles on shows like Due South, Power Play and 1-800-Missing. His profile rose significantly after he married Spelling in 2006, leading the couple to star in a slew of reality series including Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, Tori & Dean: Inn Love and True Tori. The pair frequently documented their marriage, family life and financial struggles on television and in interviews. McDermott also competed on various reality shows, including Chopped Canada and Celebrity Family Feud.

Before his marriage to Spelling, McDermott married actress Mary Jo Eustace, with whom he welcomed son Jack (born in 1998). McDermott and Spelling married in 2006 and expanded their family with sons Liam (born in 2007), Finn (born in 2012) and Beau (born in 2017), and daughters Stella (born in 2008) and Hattie (born in 2011). In 2023, McDermott announced that he and Spelling had separated after 17 years of marriage. The following year, he moved on with Lily Calo.
