DJ Cassidy

Spin city: He can attract a client list of the world’s biggest stars, but the lifelong New Yorker’s career really spun out from his early days DJing on the city’s prep-school party circuit. His style has, too. “In my teens, I took pride in being able to go to any gig in an Adidas tracksuit.” Only now, he mixes that Adidas with high-end haberdasher Jay Kos and sleek Paul Stuart with a little Uniqlo thrown in. Fashion flashback: For his 28th birthday this year at the New York Public Library, the DJ turned tables — and heads — with an outfit he says, “was immaculate!” He designed the red linen tux with white silk pleated shirt with Paul Stuart, and his shoes (black velvet with red musical notes) with Stubbs & Wootton. A fashion fan of: Months before Michael Jackson’s death, Cassidy designed a limited-edition Rockport boat shoe, inspired by the King of Pop’s iconic outfit in the “Billie Jean” video. “You can tell who Run DMC and Michael Jackson are by their silhouette alone — their posture, their stance, the clothing they have on. That says a lot.”
