Don Lemon is an American journalist best known for his time as an anchor on CNN. Lemon spent his childhood in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and graduated from Brooklyn College with a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1996.

Lemon got his start as a weekend news anchor at various outlets in Alabama, Pennsylvania and Missouri before joining NBC News and Today. In 2003, he joined a local NBC outlet in Chicago as a reporter and coachor. During his tenure there, he earned three Emmys for his reporting.

In 2006, Lemon joined CNN. Eight years later, he became an anchor during the primetime hours. He led several shows including The Eleventh Hour, The Don Lemon Show and CNN Tonight. In September 2022, Lemon was announced as one of the hosts for the morning series. He was fired from the network in April 2023. After parting ways with CNN, Lemon planned to host a web series on X but the project was canceled after interviewing Elon Musk. Lemon has since taken his reporting to social media, garnering a following of millions across platforms including Instagram and TikTok. In 2026, Lemon was arrested while reporting on anti-ICE protests at a church in Minnesota. He was indicted on federal civil charges and pleaded not guilty.

In his personal life, Lemon publicly came out as gay in his 2011 memoir, Transparent. In April 2024, Lemon tied the knot with Tim Malone after eight years of dating.
