Following roles in Lawn Dogs (1997) and The Sixth Sense (1999), Mischa Barton gained wider recognition portraying Marissa Cooper on Fox’s The O.C. from 2003 to 2006. Barton later joined Ashton Kutcher on The CW’s The Beautiful Life (2009) and appeared alongside Martin Sheen in Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain (2014). Barton starred in the first season of The Hills: New Beginnings in 2019 and landed the starring role as Miranda Green in Invitation To a Murder (2023). Barton has modeled for companies including Calvin Klein, Aéropostale and Neutrogena and is a spokesperson for the SAFE campaign.

Barton revealed in 2024 that she previously dated The O.C. costar Ben McKenzie early on in filming. She has also been linked to Cisco Adler and James Abercrombie.
