Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka Chopra is an actress, producer and former beauty queen known for her work in Bollywood and Hollywood. Born in Jamshedpur, India, Chopra moved frequently with her family during her childhood across several cities in India. As a teenager, she spent several years in the United States, attending school in Massachusetts and Iowa before returning to India.

Chopra’s rise to fame began in 2000 when she won the Miss World pageant, bringing international attention and opening the door to a career in film. She soon transitioned into acting in Hindi cinema, landing early roles in films including The Hero: Love Story of a Spy (2003) and Andaaz (2003). Over the following decade she became one of Bollywood’s most recognizable stars with performances in Fashion (2008), Don (2006) and Barfi! (2012) before expanding into American television with the ABC drama Quantico from 2015 to 2018.

In addition to acting, Chopra has produced projects through her company Purple Pebble Pictures. Her work in film and television has earned numerous honors, including two National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards.

Chopra began dating Nick Jonas in 2018 and the couple became engaged that July. They tied the knot in December 2018 during multiday ceremonies in Jodhpur, India. The pair welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas (born in 2022), via surrogate.
