
Tate Donovan
Tate Donovan is an actor and director best known for his roles in The O.C., Damages and Friends. Donovan is the youngest of six who spent his childhood in Tenafly, New Jersey. He attended Tenafly High School before attending the University of Southern California, where he studied acting.
Donovan made his screen debut in the 1984 film No Small Affair and went on to appear in several films including SpaceCamp (1986), Memphis Belle (1990), Love Potion No. 9 (1992) and Inside Monkey Zetterland (1992). He later became widely recognized for playing Joshua Burgin, Rachel Green’s boyfriend, on Friends.
Donovan later starred as Jimmy Cooper on The O.C. and as Tom Shayes on Damages. Some of his later film credits include Argo (2012), 3 Generations (2015), The Upside (2017) and Bonding (2026). As a director, he helmed episodes of The O.C., Gossip Girl, Glee and Damages.
Donovan married writer Corinne Kingsbury in 2005, but the pair divorced in 2008. He was previously engaged to actress Jennifer Aniston, whom he dated after meeting on the set of Friends. He tied the knot with Corry Scheuerman in 2015.
