“I am a very protective parent, as you probably know,” the reality star, 43, admitted at the 2019 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour on Tuesday, February 12, promoting her new dating reality show, Kate Plus Date. “It comes from a place of love. I do think that I care so deeply that I have been, at times, overzealous.”

But when it comes to her two eldest children, 18-year-old twins Mady and Cara, Gosselin doesn’t have to hover. “I don’t have to keep after them,” she said. “They’re self-driven. They have goals and dreams, and they’re just good kids. … With them turning 18 and going off to college soon, I don’t have to worry.”
