Nothing but love! Justin Theroux didn’t miss the opportunity to honor his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, in a heartfelt Instagram post for her 50th birthday on Monday, February 11.
The Leftovers actor, 47, took to Instagram to pen a sweet message to his former love alongside a picture of the Friends alum showing off her buff arms. “Happy Birthday to this fierce Woman.Fiercely loving. Fiercely kind. ….and fiercely funny,” Theroux captioned the post, before signing it off with, “❤️ you B.”
The shoutout comes almost exactly one year after Aniston and Theroux called it quits on their marriage of nearly three years. In a joint statement to Us Weekly announcing their split, the former duo called to their decision “mutual.”
Earlier this month, a source told Us Weekly that the Parks and Recreation alum and the Break-Up actress have “really closed that chapter of their lives,” adding, “It was a clean break and they have both gone back to their pre-married lives.”
The source added: “He’s happy in New York and she’s happy in L.A. They are both happy to be living their lives the way they want. He has his friends and she has hers. There’s not a lot of overlap. They wish each other well, but they have both completely moved on.”
Theroux wasn’t the only ex of Aniston’s who celebrated the Dumplin’ star as she welcomed a new decade in her life.
Brad Pitt — who Aniston was married to for five years before they split in October 2005 — attended the California native’s star-studded birthday bash at Sunset Tower Hotel on Saturday, February 9.
“Jen spoke to Brad briefly. At one point she hugged him and thanked him for coming,” an insider told Us of the 55-year-old Fury actor’s time at the party. However, the source noted that many partygoers “were surprised to see Brad there and were making a big deal of it.”
Aniston, who “mostly mingled with her girlfriends” during the celebration, didn’t seem to be phased by Pitt’s appearance. “It didn’t seem like that big of a deal to Jen. The invite went out to a ton of people and he accepted,” the source added. “She was happy he was there, but that was it. She was busy making the rounds and excited to see so many people near and dear to her.”
Other celebrities who came out to celebrate included Aniston and Pitt’s mutual friend George Clooney and his wife Amal, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Downey Jr., Ellen DeGeneres and another ex of Anistons, John Mayer.
