Bravo fans love receipts. Kyle Richards was forced to address her past remarks about Brandi Glanville on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen after she sided with her former enemy over current Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costar Denise Richards.
Andy Cohen revealed on the Wednesday, August 12, episode of the late-night show that the “No. 1 question” for Kyle, 51, was regarding her old BravoTV.com blogs.
“I saw that blog, actually, on Twitter and that was regarding Brandi saying she saw [my sister] Kim [Richards] had done ‘meth’ in the bathroom and honestly I think that was something she said in the moment, angry, and I was worried that would stick because of Kim’s history and that wasn’t true,” the reality TV personality replied on WWHL. “It wasn’t a detailed story. I’m not here to sit here and say I know the truth or not, but I’m just saying what I believed. And honestly, I do believe [Brandi].”
While Kyle seems to be referring to a season 2 fight with Brandi, 47, a season 5 blog has been circulating Twitter in recent weeks.
“Brandi always puts out lies about people, hoping they stick. Just because Brandi says something doesn’t make it true. She has a tendency to believe her own lies,” Kyle wrote in 2015. “As Brandi threw out her last dagger, her vicious comment about my husband not wanting me, I lost it. It was so mean and coming from someone who is so concerned about ‘reckless’ comments … What about my children? Brandi has proven time and again she doesn’t care about hurting anyone … including their family.”
Kyle and Brandi were at odds for years over who had Kim’s back amid her battle with sobriety. After the Drinking and Tweeting author left the show after season 5, the two women reconnected offscreen in recent years. Kyle recalled how they made amends during an interview with E! News in May 2019.
“I bumped into her at Christmastime at the post office and it was, ‘Hi, how are you?’ and she was just really nice. She’s always watching the show and she’s kind of put in her two cents about watching this season. She’s just really nice and I left there and I thought, ‘You know, life is too short. You gotta let bygones be bygones,’” she explained. “I just sort of turned a corner in my head.”
Brandi subsequently attended Kyle’s November 2019 charity event, which was featured on season 10 of RHOBH. After the party, the Celebrity Big Brother alum detailed her alleged affair with Denise, 49, to Kyle and Teddi Mellencamp. While the Wild Things star has repeatedly denied sleeping with Brandi, Kyle, Teddi and Lisa Rinna have accused her of being inconsistent with her story on the show.
Earlier this year, Kyle gave Us Weekly exclusive insight into why she believes Brandi over Denise.
“In the past I’ve seen Brandi be an a—hole. I’ve seen her have a temper and lash out, but I really don’t think that Brandi Glanville is a liar,” she told Us in May. “I don’t know [Denise] well enough to really say [if she is someone who tells the truth], but I think that there are parts of her that she wants to edit and keep a certain way.”
