I’ll be honest: I’ve never tried a subscription box before. However, as a self-proclaimed shopaholic, they seem like a great way to expand my wardrobe with pieces I otherwise never would’ve picked up by myself. Plus, opening up a new box with fresh goodies every month sounds like a dream come true! After doing my research, I caved and decided to give one a try — Frank And Oak’s Style Subscription Box.
The Canada-based brand has been on the tip of everyone’s tongue for their stylish pieces that are ethically sourced and sustainably made with the very best fabrics. I figured it would be great to help the environment and still slay. The process was surprisingly fun and easy. I started out with a style survey sharing my size, style and budget preferences for my first box. After completing the survey, I was then sent a preview of what’s inside before they ship it out and honestly, I was very impressed — and I’m a tough cookie! Instead of using the option to switch out any items (which Frank And Oak does free of charge), I confirmed and within a few days, a box arrived.
I immediately tried on my new picks and was left surprised. While I love all the clothes that were sent to me, only two items from the three-piece box fit: a floral printed slip camisole and a button-front gingham skirt. So, I went back to the site and exchanged my floral printed slip dress for a size up and ordered a cute gingham bustier top. I love the fact that making the exchange was hassle-free and I was able to purchase more pieces on top of the subscription box. Once I confirmed my order my box arrived within a few days. Heads up, if you’re curvy like me, you may want to go up a size in the dresses for a comfortable fit.
Each piece was truly stunning. I loved how the floral printed slip dress brought out my skin tone. The floral printed camisole felt smooth as silk against my skin and I love how the adjustable straps were easy to maneuver for my desired fit. The gingham skirt gave me retro vibes and looked like something I’d find at a vintage boutique.
After my experience, I clearly see what the hype is about with the monthly clothing subscription box. The fact that I can skip a month or cancel at anytime is amazing. You’re only charged for a shipped box and there’s no limit to how much you can skip or customize each box.
