Robert Pattinson is an English actor taking America by storm after being cast as Edward Cullen in the 2008 blockbuster film adaptation of the best-selling book Twilight. Born in London in 1986, Pattinson got involved in amateur theatre through the Barnes Theatre Company.

After appearing in several amateur plays, he scored small supporting roles in television films before earning the coveted role of Cedric Diggory in 2007’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. His role in the wildly popular Twilight film has made him a household name — and earned him heartthrob status among teens and their moms alike.

Pattinson’s next projects include Little Ashes and the Twilight sequel, titled New Moon. The actor, whose two songs made it on the Twilight soundtrack, also sings three songs on the soundtrack of his new indie movie, How to Be.
