How is The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice holding up after she and her husband Joe filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy?

"Staying positive is the only thing I could do," the Bravo star, 38, told UsMagazine.com Monday at the 4th annual Ladies Night Out to benefit Project Ladybug in Paterson, NJ. "I have moral support; I have my daughters and my husband. As long as we're in good health, that's all we can do. I think this kind of situation is all over the world."

Giudice -- who said she addresses the issue on her show later this season -- almost stayed home Monday in light of the news.

"I was like, 'Should I go?'" she told Us. "I think that by me being here, hopefully everybody will see that I'm just trying to do the best I can."

Above all, "I want to teach my daughters [Gia, 9, Gabriella, 5, Milania, 4, and Adriana, 8 months] morals," she went on. "That's the No. 1 thing. I don't have skeletons on my closet, thank you very much."

Fuck all you judgemental people. Teresa and Joe are good people. She is very sweet, just wanted the best for her family and obviously it was too much but she's still a nice person as well as joe and her kids are sweethearts. Lay the fuck off of her.....

Please get a grip! Hopefully the bankrupt housewife will take a few steps back now! I felt like she was a SNOB because of her money and some of her comments regarding her "wealth"... Welcome to reality!! And No I am not jealous! I make my own money,,,

I have no sympathy for Teresa. At the rate she was going, her children will grow up very spoiled. The only thing that matters to Teresa is money and showing off. Teresa needs to live in the real world and teach her children to live in the real world. All the makeup and expensive clothes cannot make you a beautiful or elegant women.

This woman drops $1900.00 on an eight year old because she cannot tell her no, then files Ch 7!!! They should lose that million plus home of theirs' & live like the rest of us. In our means!!!

When they declared bankruptcy, were all their creditors paid e.g. all those who build her home and furnished it etc. along with any bank loand?

  • June 25, 2010 - 12:14am Joann

What does chapter 7 mean? Do they have to sell off all their assets first e.g. house, furniture, properties, cars, jewelry etc. and everything else and start from scratch?

How can she and her husband keep buying stuff when they are not paying their bills?

  • June 24, 2010 - 8:28pm Annmarie

why doesn't she just get a job?

  • June 24, 2010 - 4:11pm Beth

Teresa: this kind of situation is NOT all over the world. Very few people are getting in debt to the tune of $10 million dollars. Most of us out there are living within our means and paying our bills. The source of your problem is greed, plain and simple.

  • June 24, 2010 - 3:22pm Gail

We all make bad mistakes and if she files Chapter 7 it cleans her credit it will remain on her credit report but guess what she buy a house a car and get major credit cards as well she will pay a higher interest rate but she can get what ever she wants, she also keep her house and 1 car if she wants to as well if she can afford to pay for it.

I am absolutely disgusted that the Giudice family would run up $11 MILLION in debt and then expect to walk away scott-free through a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy! They are nothing but common, low-life crooks. And to think, they had the unmitigated nerve to talk about Danielle being garbage!
