Former Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh was found lifeless in his Chicago hotel room Saturday -- something he eerily predicted just two weeks earlier.
On September 26, the 40-year-old musician-turned-painter posted a series of chilling Twitter messages foreshadowing his untimely death.
"Dreamt I died in Chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). Need to write my will today," he wrote. "Correction -- the weekend after next."
Welsh's body was found by Raffaello Hotel staff after he failed to check out on time Saturday. According to The Chicago Tribune, police found prescription drugs and a bag believed to contain heroin nearby.
Welsh performed with Weezer from 1998 to 2001; he was later replaced by bassist Scott Shriner, 46.
"Really bummed about Mikey. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Such a talent," Shriner tweeted Sunday. "He made a special mark on the world with his art."
