This Halloween brings all treats and no tricks for fans of FX's American Horror Story.

Ryan Murphy's spooky primetime smash -- starring Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott as a couple who move their family into a haunted house -- has been picked up for a second season.

"It's one thing to have the ambition and guts to reinvent a genre in a way that makes it captivatingly fresh for a broad audience; it's something else entirely to have the craft to back that ambition up," FX's President and General Manager John Landgraf told Us Weekly in a statement confirming the news Monday.

"Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk have hit the trifecta with Nip/Tuck, Glee and now American Horror Story, which will be scaring FX's viewers to death for many years to come," he continued of the producing team behind the project.

After Monday's four-episode marathon airs, viewers can stay tuned for nine additional all-new episodes, with the final two airing on December 21.
