Kim Kardashian to Star in Tyler Perry Movie

From reality TV to the big screen!

Kim Kardashian has been cast in Tyler Perry's upcoming film, The Marriage Counselor, Deadline.com reports.

The flick, which starts filming next week in Atlanta, is adapted from Perry's play by the same name and depicts a newlywed marriage counselor, Judith (played by actress Jurnee Smollett), who's great at her job but struggles in her own marriage.

The 31-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star will play the role of Ava, Judith's co-worker, who helps her friend gain new confidence with a big city makeover among other things.

Although this is Kardashian's second big-screen gig, (she was also in Disaster Movie and Deep in the Valley), The Marriage Counselor is probably the most fitting, since she's a newlywed herself. (She tied the knot with NBA star Kris Humphries August 20).

congrats kim, on ur role in the new tyler perry movie..as for all the haters plzzz if u hate so bad why do u all follow her and comment, and yes she got a little fam from the ray j tape but lets get real, everyone starts somewhere and if she made a empire on her looks or her perfume or a reality show, it takes a pretty smart woman to keep it going so strong.. and haters if u dont like her so much or her show why do u follow....Again Congrats Kim and I enjoy watching u and your family, i have a sister who is ill and i wish i had a relationship like u do with ur sisters, i would give anything to have her back...she loves to watch the show too...

LOL people crack me up - like Kim is really going to act - but thank goodness we were able to finish off the weekend with another cr*p Kim K. story. Sally, wow you seem really invested with someone you are never going to meet. Sorry for that.

Now maybe you'll stop giving this dude your money! However, in Tyler's defense, his plays usually mirror the movie just a bit. This movie is based on one of his plays where there was a white character. However, I scoff at him putting her in the movie. If anything, this further proves that Tyler's movies are crap (overall, he's had a few decent ones) and if there was anything that screamed desperate, it's this! Of course his defense of her which I am sure is to come, will not go over well with his loyal fanbase, that's whose opinion matters as opposed to those who have never seen his films. But when it's all said and done, her role may not be that large....

Wow, I'm curious; who is "WE"? I'm ambivalent about Kim K and her role in ANY movie but I wonder if the preceding comment isn't terribly discriminatory? I personally have seen ALL Tyler Perry's movies and he seems to appeal to a broad demographic. I'm disappointed that inclusion is not part of everyone's vernacular. So sad really. . .
